MEET OUR STAFF

 

 

Paula Menghetti, Office Manager

 

Paula holds educational degrees from both Bucknell University and Pennsylvania State University.  She is in charge of all aspects of office administration for Media Veterinary Hospital.  She is the mother of 3 daughters, two of which are in college and one who is serving in the Peace Corps.  When not in the office, Paula can be found riding her Percheron paint horse "Dave" or hiking the trails of Ridley Creek State Park with her golden retriever "Hannah."  She also loves to read with her cat "Lilly" on her lap. In addition to her daughters, her family also includes 2 Golden Retrievers, named "Lucy" and "Hanna", both adopted, together with their cat named "Lilly".

Jennifer Woodruff,

Certified Animal Health Technician

 

Jennifer holds an Associate Degree in Science and has been with Media Veterinary Hospital since 2001.  She also attended the University of Pennsylvania Practica for large and small animals from June - December, 1999.  She assists our doctors with all aspects of veterinary technology.  Jennifer enjoys all outdoor activities, especially hiking and swimming in addition to watching movies & T.V.  Her menagerie of 10 animals that share her home including 2 dogs, a cat, 2 birds, an iguana, 2 leopard geckos, and 2 basilisks.

Debra Heisler, Veterinary Technician

 

Debra has had 13 years of experience in veterinary medical technology, and joined Media Veterinary Hospital five years ago.  She assists our doctors in all aspects including examinations, surgical procedures and laboratory analysis. Debra enjoys reading, motorcycles and exercising.  Her family includes 2 adult sons, Sam, who is married and in the farming profession, Ike, who is also in farming and competes with the IBR (International Bull Riding Association), and one daughter, Kathy, married with 2 children, Logan and Clinton, who are Debra's grandsons.  Debra shares her home with her dog which she adopted from the Humane Society.

Iris O'Connor,

Certified Veterinary Technician

 

Iris is a graduate of Harcum College and holds an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology.  She is a part-time veterinary technician and assists our doctors with appointments, treatment procedures, hospitalized patient care, and client education regarding new puppy and kitten care.  Iris lives with her husband and 3 young sons, all of whom love animals.  Her only female support comes from "Zoe", her 4-year old Boston Terrier whom she adopted from Media Veterinary Hospital.

Diane Knittel,

Veterinary Technician

 

Diane holds an Associate Degree in Animal Science/Veterinary Technology and is a graduate of Southern Seminary College in Buena Vista, VA.  She is a part-time technician assisting our doctors with appointments and client education in addition to caring for our patients.  Diane shares her home with her husband, Greg, and their daughter and son.  She devotes much time and effort to special needs advocacies and is also a Certified Massage Therapist.  Her pets include a dog, 2 cats, a guinea pig and a Koi fish.

Sherrie Sykes, Receptionist

 

Sherrie has been with Media Veterinary Hospital for 3 years and assists with our front desk reception.  She loves to make a fuss over our adorable pets, especially all the little puppies that visit us.  Her favorite past times are fostering puppies, gardening, reading and taking care of her 3 shelter dogs, "Ladybug", "Becky" and "Leah" plus her 2 cats, "PuddinŽ" and "Kitty Foo Foo".

 

     

 

Sal Ippolito, Veterinary Technician

 

Sal is a graduate of Hahnemann University with an Associate in Science, and a Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology.  He has been with Media Veterinary Hospital for 18 years and assists our doctors in surgical procedures, all aspects of anesthesia, radiology, laboratory analysis, nursing care and pharmaceutical inventory management.

Cheryl Chamberlain, Receptionist

 

Cheryl is a 1989 gradate from Garnet Valley High School and a 1990 graduate of Chubb Institute with a diploma in Computer Operations.  She is responsible for greeting clients, answering phones, computer data entry, and especially playing with all our pet visitors.  She has 6 cats, all of whom have special needs.  In her spare time, she loves spending time with her son, Robert, and enjoys pet sitting.

June Taffel, Kennel Manager

 

June has been with Media Veterinary Hospital for nine years and is a graduate of Collingdale High School.  Her duties include caring for the animals in our boarding kennel.  She keeps our boarders clean, safe and as happy as possible.  In addition, June handles our kennel scheduling, food and supply inventory, and trains our kennel assistants.  Her son, Jesse, lives with her and they share their home with their cute cat named "Rascal Ann" who is 9-years old.  When not at work, June enjoys exercising, working out and walking on a regular basis.  Working on her house is a never ending process which takes up most of her free time painting, making repairs and gardening.

"Sprite", Our Hospital Cat

 

Here's "Sprite" and Media Veterinary Hospital's official mascot. Sprite sleeps on our Office Manager, Paula Menghetti's desk most of the day.  She eats a tablespoon of yogurt from a spoon every day and she insists on drinking water from the cooler.

Sprite definitely has all of us very well trained!
